Full-day biking Hanoi rural life – 09:00 AM
Your cycling tour of Hanoi begins at 09:00 when you are picked up from your hotel and transferred to the office to collect your bikes and receive a safety briefing from your guide. From here, you will begin your morning cycling tour. Your guide will take you past the famous Quang An flower market, however, instead of entering the actual market, we will head towards the river and into the actual gardens where they are grown. For the next few hours, you will pass through local communities growing flowers, making and selling local pottery, seasonal fruits such as kumquat, strawberry, and Vietnamese apple orchards, jungles of banana trees, and local gardens with any number of vegetables on view. Stop and talk to the locals, learn about their produce, taste the exotic foods and cycle through some incredible scenery. All in the knowledge that you are only meters from Hanoi city, you'd never think so while you're on your bike.
The tour continues as you cross the famous Long Bien bridge. Built by the Eiffel company between 1899-1902, it was an important link during the Vietnam War and its defense is now part of local folklore. Push your bikes up onto the bridge and see Hanoi from a new perspective as you cross what was once the longest bridge in Asia.
Once across Long Bien Bridge, you will cycle through some residential districts of Hanoi, crisscrossing through narrow streets until you reach the tip of the Bac Cau peninsula. There is only one way to cross the river at this stage, by boat. Transfer your bikes onto a local boat taxi and enjoy the brief but earned rest. Just a couple of kilometers along the riverfront, you will turn off into a small village where you will have lunch in a local restaurant. If you are lucky and they are at home, you may be able to visit the home of an elderly couple who are the 18th of 20 generations to live in the same house! A great spot for tea and an insight into the lives of a local family.
From here, your private transfer will take you back to your hotel, returning around 3 pm.

Savoring the utter spiciness of chili, the spicy sweet of dried beef, the crispiness of julienned green papaya, the pungent flavor of herbs, and the nutty taste of roasted peanut, you are bound to comprehend how far-reaching its coverage is. Try banh cuon, steamed rice paper stuffed with pork and mushrooms, nem chua ran, fried spring rolls, and many other dishes. Then sit down for a dinner of barbeque, dining on perfectly grilled meats and vegetables at a popular local shop.
